It is the intention of the Corporate Safety Department to provide and maintain the safest possible working conditions for all employees, with particular emphasis on team effort among our people.

GOAL I GOAL II GOAL III GOAL IV
To reduce our accident rate to ZERO. To provide a safe working environment for all employees through training and hazard awareness. To assure our customers that our work & equipment are being performed & maintained in a safe manner. To protect the public from any hazards that might emanate from the execution of our work.

Century’s executives, managers, and supervisors are committed to the continuous improvement of its operations to provide a safe and healthful place to work. The elimination of hazards, and the proper communication, instruction, tools and personal protective equipment to deal with hazards that cannot be eliminated, promotes the atmosphere for accident free job sites.

The nature of work, involving rigging and structural steel erection, is recognized as the most dangerous in construction. Century’s experience statistics demonstrate that Century has developed programs to effectively deal with the industry acknowledged dangers of hazardous substances and exposure to lead from lead-based paints, as well as pro-active programs to deal with fall protection. Programs for matters such as netting and scaffolding are built into the planning of job site operations.

Maintaining a drug free work environment provides owners, other contractors, and employees, some assurance that their safety and health will not be compromised by individuals who are under the influence of substances that do not belong in the construction environment.

Corporate Safety Director, Darlaine Taylor is actively involved in the support for all job site programs. She has been the background leader in the development of Century’s enviable safety record, which includes accident-free job sites, and a history of statistics well below the industry standards and norms for this market. This helps make Century extremely competitive in bidding, and a highly desired contractor by owners who provide "wrap-up insurance" on their work sites.
