The Duquesne University Pedestrian Bridge crosses Forbes Avenue, adjacent to the Armstrong Tunnels. The tunnel portal can be seen in a few of the photos below. To erect this bridge, the fabricator shop erected the structural shell, which was delivered to the site by prearranged schedule, which involved the closing of Forbes Avenue over a weekend. The remaining pieces of the structure (like the arches and the roof decking) were installed on the ground. This was for efficiency and safety, rather than installing these pieces while the structure was in the air. The substantially complete structure was then hoisted into place with one crane lift, connecting it into the building, and to the site above the Armstrong Tunnels.

Note: The project images below are in sequential order from left to right, showing how the bridge was delivered and unloaded from the truck, built and roofed on the ground and then rigged into position as a final structural bridge.
