Century Steel Erectors is a specialty company with a long list of credentials. Century has been in operation since 1983. However, it's top managers have had more than a century of experience in the erection of structural steel buildings and complex structures, erection and demolition of bridges, and rigging and setting of equipment and machinery. This includes hands-on experience and knowledge of engineering, crane utilization, machinery rigging, steel erection, welding and other necessary construction functions.

The composition of Century gives customers important advantages in a traditional function that usually doesn’t come from multi-service, diversified, impersonal corporations.

CENTURY DOES IT ALL

Century erects all types of buildings - from single-story to high-rise. We erect, repair, and dismantle bridges. We have removed, transported, assembled, placed, leveled and aligned machinery and equipment of all types from steel mills to candy manufacturing machines - even the erection of heavy steel art sculpture.

Century is fully equipped with lifting and moving equipment as well as the compressors, generators and welding equipment needed to support large, demanding projects.

Century is made up of people who possess the broad range of skills and experience needed to perform the complex tasks of steel and machinery erection. Century Steel Erectors is a union contractor with National Maintenance and Bridge Maintenance Agreements, but is competitive even against open shop companies and is dedicated to completing work on schedule and at minimum cost.

Century Steel Erectors has the management skills that come from long experience and we have the hands-on field knowledge that comes from working on all types of construction projects. We have the equipment to successfully complete any assignment. The company owns and operates 16 cranes ranging from 15 to 220 ton capacity, which allows us to efficiently match equipment to a project. Century also leases its cranes to customers on a daily and monthly basis.

Century Steel Erectors is prepared to handle your building structural work, bridge erection/ demolition or repair work, machinery removal or installation program, or other specialty rigging, welding, or other construction or maintenance program work, with a qualified management team and skilled craft people.

Century has a history of successful projects and satisfied clients, including private and public owners, prime contractors, and fabricators of structural steel or pre-cast concrete. Century Steel Erectors maintains its corporate headquarters in Dravosburg (previously located in West Mifflin), PA. Southeast of Pittsburgh, From this location, Century provides a centralized management organization, which services users in the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Midwest, and Southwest regions of the United States.

Century’s management team includes executives and professionals who are dedicated to keeping up with the latest and best in construction delivery methods, and who have hands-on experience and knowledge of the necessary engineering, and construction work operations. Century actively manages its Safety and Health Programs, and Quality Programs, to provide work-sites that are safe places for its employees to work, and quality construction that provides the end users of its services with a cost effective, construction program.

Century’s skilled workforce, includes long term craft supervisory personnel, with a hands-on experience and knowledge of crane utilization, machinery rigging, steel and pre-cast erection, welding, and other specialty construction functions. Century utilizes the best skilled workers available in the industry, and maintains active participation in both local and national labor relations forums, including the Iron Workers Employer’s Association of Western Pennsylvania (IWEA), and the National Erector’s Association (NEA). These Multi-Employer Associations provide a structure for skilled craft training, safety training, and a strong voice in the labor relations arena to keep skilled labor competitive and cost effective.

Other divisions:

In addition to its construction operations, Century has developed two divisions to provide other needed services in the industry:

Century Crane & Hoist, Inc. has been developed to provide the engineering, design, installation, and maintenance of overhead bridge cranes and hoists, and other specialty hoists necessary for many manufacturing and material distribution clients.

Century CM, Inc. has been developed to provide construction users with a project delivery system that can either supplement their own in-house staff of engineering, and construction contract administrative personnel, and/or work with owners early in their capital expenditure programs to develop a team that can actively manage the design development, pre-construction, construction, and post construction phases of the program.
